ESR Nayan Dhakal is winner of Dowson prize

Nayan Dhakal, ESR in the GreenTRIBOS consortium, won the Dowson Prize at the 48th Leeds-Lyon Symposium on Tribology.

This Dowson prize was launched at the 35th Leeds-Lyon Symposium on Tribology in 2008 in honour of the lifetime achievements of Duncan Dowson and to inspire and reward outstanding young tribologists. The prize is awarded to the best paper and presentation by a young tribologist at the Symposium when hosted by Leeds as judged by a independent panel of experts. The winner of the prize was announced at the closing session of the Symposium on 7 September 2023 and received £1000 GBP and a copy of "The History of Tribology" by Duncan Dowson.

The GreenTRIBOS consortium is proud that the scientific results of our ESR Nayan Dhakal have also gained recognition in the scientific community with this award.

The key academic groups of TRIBOS consortium are leading and world renown in their own field of Tribology and Surface engineering. They are very complementary from point of view of surfaces, lubricants and interfaces, as well as engineering component design. Thus, their involvement in a single programme enables integration of the whole range of tribology sub-areas required for successful application solutions.
